Beschreibung
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot form the basis for a wine that neither wants to nor can deny its great Bordeaux role model. And yet it shows great stylistic independence: This can be seen, for example, in the approximately 25% of the cuvée that is not aged in barriques but in large oak barrels. Only 30% is aged in new wood, the rest in 2 to 4-year-old barriques. This resulted in a „claret‘ of beguiling elegance with the 2018 vintage. With expressive fruit – especially cherry, cassis and plum – and silky-soft wood flavours. In addition, finely polished tannins that, despite their accessibility, already promise considerable ageing potential. James Suckling awarded this impressive 2018 wine 99 points.
