Light earthy tones, nuances of dark chocolate, aniseed and spicy tobacco give the red wine a beautiful complexity. On the palate, notes of blueberries and blackberries harmonize with the earthy tones, accompanied by a hint of fresh mint and cinnamon. The fine structure and velvety texture ensure a pleasant mouthfeel. The cuvée of Cabernet Franc (49%), Malbec (35%), Cabernet Sauvignon (9%), Merlot (3.5%) and Petit Verdot (3.5%) matured for sixteen months in French oak and is a wonderful accompaniment to game or dark meat. A delicious cheese platter is also highly recommended with the Raats Jasper Red Blend.
