More information about Riesling Ried Schneiderberg Winery Gmeinböck An animating interplay of aromas of apricot and lychee meet nashi pear and a hint of lime and saline. The finish reveals further notes of tropical fruit and a hint of tarragon. The Schneiderberg vineyard site stands on clay, marl and sand deposits that are around 15 million years old. It is increasingly covered by loess, and the steep south-western exposure produces a fine minerality. The name comes from the comparison of the small plots within the vineyard with small pieces of fabric, the so-called „Schneiderfleckerl“.About the winery:The Gmeinböck family from Poysdorf, in the heart of the Weinviertel, has been growing grapes since 1734. The loess and clay soils offer ideal conditions for wines with a distinctive character. Behind these characterful wines are people like Erwin Gmeinböck and his family, who put their heart and soul into shaping the wines. The family’s motto is: Dedication to authenticity is a top priority in our family.
