Beschreibung
The dark rock of the volcanic basalt soil gave the Forster Pechstein its name. The G.C. standing for „Grand Cru? in the Bürklin-Wolf classification indicates that this is one of the eight top sites of the Wachenheim estate. The dark soil here provides a warm microclimate. The result is fully ripe, intense fruit. The underlying basalt gives the site a unique, exciting minerality. The 2020 vintage is also characterized by this duality. Ripe, flattering vineyard peach on the one hand, herbaceous and above all mineral notes on the other. In between, citric acidity that keeps the wine fresh despite its concentration and density. Riesling at the very highest level.
