Beschreibung
Gottschelle is the only location south of the Danube that consists of such massive layers of loess. Each of them represents a new ice age. In Gottschelle, there is also a layer of gravel from the Urdonau, which gives the wines grown here their unmistakable minerality: very mineral, with lots of fruit melt and hints of exotic aromas. The vineyard was first mentioned in 1341 as „Gotschalich?, which goes back to the word „Götsche? and refers to an abrupt slope.
