Beschreibung
Unlike the Mittelhaardt, where Riesling reigns supreme, the southern Pfalz is Pinot country. The VDP estate Münzberg is a prime example – Riesling plays only a minor role here, with Burgundy grapes dominating. At the top of the range: wines from the premier site Godramsteiner Münzberg, including the Spätburgunder GG „Schlangenpfiff.? It shows a complex mix of red and black berries, herbal and smoky tones, dark chocolate, and a touch of licorice. Plenty of ripe tannin gives compactness, while fine acidity carries the long finish.
