The name is emblazoned on the label with a large internal N – and indeed, the resulting attribute is highly accurate. Although „nice‘ actually falls far short of the mark. Yes, the wine from the Nierstein VDP estate has a playful light-heartedness, with just 8% alcohol it is dancingly light and the residual sweetness is countered by a good acidity grip. Deep underneath, however, is a mineral framework that lifts the „KabiNett‘ far above the sweet banality of many of its peers, despite its uncomplicated nature. Stuart Pigott wrote „Sensationally refreshing‘ in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung – we have nothing to add. Except to say that the years of bottle ageing have revealed even more of its class.
