Year after year, the star of the Wittmann estate’s GGs is the Morstein. The site is the oldest documented single vineyard in Westhofen (1282!) and, with a slope of around 20%, is unusually steep for the terroir there. One of the great German Rieslings grows here on clay marl interspersed with limestone. A densely textured, complex masterpiece full of fascinating facets, vinified with laser-sharp precision by Philipp Wittmann. VINUM awarded the 2022 vintage from Wittmann the title of „best Riesling of the year‘. The critics were also unanimously enthusiastic, awarding it between 96 and 99 points. We are delighted to be able to offer this rare and sought-after masterpiece in single and magnum bottles.
