With the new vintage, the young winemakers of the Protégé program have once again succeeded in creating a very special wine from old vines that knows how to inspire with its youthful freshness and elegance. The cuvée of Cinsault (70%) and Pinotage (30%) impresses in the glass with its brilliant ruby red color. Fruity hints of plums, cherries and red currants pamper the senses, as do spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and pepper. Exotic aromas such as liquorice and cardamom perfectly complement the multi-layered character of the Imvini Wethu Cinsault Pinotage and are wonderfully surrounded by dark chocolate. Silky soft tannins caress the palate and ensure that the red wine, which has matured in oak for 18 months, lingers for a long time. Speaking of resonance: The beautiful name Imvini Wethu means something like „our vines“, after all, the Cinsault grapes come from an 88-year-old vineyard – the second oldest red wine and Cinsault vineyard in the country – and the Pinotage grapes from vines over 40 years old.
