More information about la fenetre For their latest creation, the team at Nuremberg-based Orca Brau has chosen a very special ingredient. Like many breweries, they are enthusiastic about the different hop varieties in the world and their multifaceted aromas and are always on the lookout for as yet unknown treasures. When the Locher family from the eponymous hop farm in Tettnang took part in a wine and cheese tasting some time ago, they came across one such treasure: The event took place in a lush garden where, among other things, hops were growing. The experts took a close look at the plants and realized that some of them were not familiar varieties. In conversation with the gardener, it turned out that they were Petit Blanc. This French species grew in the Champagne-Ardenne region until it fell into oblivion and supposedly died out. With the help of a few cuttings, they managed to revive the variety and re-establish it on the market. The Orca Brau combines the fruity melon notes and the floral lilac aroma of this special hop with the fiery spiciness of the Piment d’Espelette chilli variety to create an aroma-intensive work of art with French charm called La Fenêtre. The French Spiced Lager caresses the palate with a silky-smooth symphony of full-bodied malt, elegant hops and a hint of chili.
