More information about Marilyn Chi beve birra campa cent’anni – if you translate this old Italian proverb, it does not mean „He who drinks wine lives a hundred years“, but actually „He who drinks beer lives a hundred years“. Although this wisdom originates from the land of wine, it revolves around our favorite beverage and attributes life-prolonging effects to the barley juice. This positive effect is certainly not due to the alcohol content, so we assume that beer strengthens us with its invigorating ingredients. In addition, beer is often drunk in good company and forces us to sit still and enjoy life, at least for a little while. Italian beer culture has experienced a real boom in the wake of the craft beer movement and more and more small craft breweries are currently opening their doors. One of these breweries is Birrificio Artigianale Karma from the northern outskirts of Naples. Their craftsmanship can be recognized at first glance from the unusual bottles and every single sip confirms this positive impression. One of their gems is Marilyn, a blonde beer with a strong character, made from selected malts, the finest hops, brown sugar and spicy honey. This Italian beauty presents itself in delicately cloudy old gold and conjures up full-bodied notes of rich grain, flowery hops, fresh citrus fruit and creamy forest honey in the glass.
