More information about Minerva Sour beers have fascinated mankind for centuries. Their crisp acidity refreshes, challenges the palate and quenches thirst in an incomparable way. Classic styles such as Gose or Berliner Weisse fell into oblivion for a long time after their heyday. But then came the craft beer revolution and sparked a brand new interest in these traditional brews. Nowadays, craft brewers all over the world are devoting all their attention to sour beer. At this point, we would like to introduce you to two breweries that normally operate on different continents. While Ulrike Genz and her team from the Schneeeule brewery brew in Germany’s capital, the Sour Cellars brewery realizes its beer dreams in sunny California. Now, however, the international brewers have pooled their sour beer skills and created a joint brew. Minverva is – how could it be otherwise – a fine sour beer, a Berliner Weisse to be precise. However, the German-American team has put its very own stamp on the style by using a special blend of spices and maturing it in barrels for a whole year. The creation is called Minverva and conjures up a spicy interplay of aromas from herbal notes, hints of fruit and refreshing acidity in the glass. A feather-light 3.8% alcohol content supports the enjoyment with a delicate zest.
