In addition to the usual suspects, the label on the Weisse contains a number of unusual ingredients: saccaromyces, brettanomyces and lactobacilli. What sounds like a chemistry set are special yeasts and lactic acid bacteria that give the unusual beer a very special kick and support the natural acidity of Berliner Weisse in a sensational way. Kennedy presents itself in a cloudy amber gold color in the glass and is crowned by an impressive amount of airy foam. A delicately sour aroma typical of this beer style wafts into the nose. The first sip reveals a light-footed body with refreshing fruit and a palatable 3.5% alcohol content. A lot of sparkling carbonic acid makes the aromas dance on the tongue. Notes of green apple, pink grapefruit, orange and lemon peel, oven-fresh brioche and lightly roasted malt are also present.
