Following his success with the unconventional Hellen, the Dunkle is the malty counterpart to the Munich classic and another highlight in Tilman’s range of beers.The blue leopard on the label already gives it away: the Dunkle is not a purely traditional brew either. Tilman, an expert in the modern interpretation of tried and tested beer styles, has once again outdone himself. On the basis of a traditional dark beer, he has created an aromatic framework of roasted malt, caramel and hop notes that is second to none. In the style of full-bodied English stouts, Tilman has pimped the classic dark beer and added a fruity note reminiscent of late summer fruit. The Dunkle comes in a rich, deep mahogany color and boasts a soft brown, fine-pored head. Topped off with a sophisticated label design by Japanese artist Maki Shimizu, the Dunkle is visually stunning.And the taste of the blue leopard is anything but tame: dominant, malty roasted aromas make their outstanding debut on the tongue before being joined by subtle, dark fruit aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries, creating a very special flavor composition.Another bull’s eye for Tilman Ludwig!
