As a tribute to the so-called „Hermitage-ization? that was quite common in the 19th century, which involved adding the somewhat stronger Syrah wine from the northern Rhône (Hermitage), Château Palmer produces this cuvée in some years based on its Margaux with the addition of approximately 10% Syrah from Hermitage. What Palmer creates with a wink and an eye to tradition is an impressive wine that combines the Bordeaux cuvée with the addition of Syrah and the spicy aromas of this grape variety. The result is unusual and highly interesting!
