Alongside Lagrein, Vernatsch is the second classic red variety of South Tyrol – and could hardly be more different. While Lagrein appears deep, dark and rich in tannins, Vernatsch is a dancing, light red wine. It comes from over 50-year-old pergola vines at Missian at 450 to 550 meters altitude. The „Missian? possesses a wonderful character, smells of ripe amarena cherries, strawberries, violets and marzipan, appears agile, graceful and juicy with finesse, a silky tannin and discreet alcohol levels. A wine for our time.
