Beschreibung
The Hundsrück comprises the eastern part of the Bürgstadter Berg. As part of the wine law reform in 1971, the purely southern location was added to the neighboring Centgrafenberg and disappeared from the official cadastre. The once famous site was only „rehabilitated? in 2011 and Rudolf Fürst produces some of the greatest German Frühburgunder and Spätburgunder wines there. Wines such as the 2017 vintage, which received 99 points from GAULT MILLAU. The 2017 Hundsrück has the usual firm structure and lush herbaceousness. The fruit is dominated by red berries, above all raspberries with – not uncommon in Hundsrück – a hint of black pepper. Despite its opulence and density, the wine always retains its highly refined and cool elegance.
