More information about Alto Rouge 2022 Alto Rouge is a dark garnet red in the glass and develops a multi-layered, intense bouquet. „Fruity aromas are accompanied by a hint of fynbos, with juicy plums, blackberries and dried figs coming to the fore on the palate. Oakwood and pine needles add spicy depth and give the cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Shiraz (42%), Cabernet Franc (12%) and Petit Verdot (2%) particular complexity. The noticeable but soft tannins provide structure and balance, while the 18-month maturation in French and American oak rounds off the wine harmoniously. Enjoy this South African icon on its own – or with grilled chicken, beef, creamy pasta or mature cheese. This vintage marks the 100th anniversary of the Alto Rouge.
