Beschreibung
The Rudolf Fürst winery has brought the Hundsrück vineyard, which had fallen into oblivion, back into the public eye. Since the wine law reform and land consolidation of the 1970s, it had been integrated into the Centgrafenberg without a trace. The vineyard has only been listed as a single vineyard again since 2011. The pure south-facing exposure has a slope of up to 40%. A 0.5 to 3 meter thick layer of ferrous weathering on bare rock forms the soil of one of the best Pinot Noir sites in Germany. JAMES SUCKLING describes the 2018 Hundsrück as dark and smoky, stating that it has the potential to age for several decades and awarding it a whopping 99 points. The vast majority of critics are also enthusiastic, awarding between 96 and 97 points.
