The vines in the Kittenberg are over 50 years old and the soil consists of a mix of limestone and slate. The Pinot Blanc that grows here is correspondingly complex – and has nothing in common with the insignificant mass-produced wines that are becoming increasingly common. Mineral salinity with a dash of slate smoke meets pear, apple, brioche, mushroom and petrichor. Plenty of extract is skilfully balanced by a perfect acidity structure and fine herbal notes. Remarkably long and complex finish. Pinot Blanc can also deliver great wines!
