Everything about this wine seems to shout „We can do sweet too!‘. With the 2022 Felseneck Kabinett, Tim Schäfer has succeeded in vinifying a classically fruity-sweet Riesling without denying his purist, elegant signature. The best of both worlds: Seductive fruit of peach and lime on the one hand, taut acidity with deep slate minerality on the other, producing plenty of drinking pleasure. A Riesling which, in view of its very pleasingly light seven per cent alcohol by volume, one would like to award the fashionable attribute „Kabi‘ – but whose greatness and ageing potential would not do it justice. In addition to classic Asian pairings (yellow or green curries and the like), we recommend this wine with salmon or grilled seafood.
